Point of perfection

Kemal, translated as perfection, is the state between Jelal, the creative force, and Jemal, the receptive force. Kemal can best be understood as a point of perfect tension. Think of a basketball player who leaps into the air to shoot the ball. The point where s/he is neither rising nor falling, neither shooting the ball nor not shooting it, that is Kemal. When Sufi metaphysicians describe the creative impulse of the divine, they call God the Creator, Jelal, and the Created Universe Jemal, where these two meet is Kemal, the point of perfection.
